My sampler wall.....

I decided to go look at a frame I had seen in the catalog from IKEA for my 10 Virgins sampler. With all the work we have been doing around the house, it would otherwise be a while before we could arrange to have a frame made. This frame is plain but I think it works well. I did have to remove a couple of berries in the design to make it work with the length of this frame but I don't think it takes away from this pretty design at all.

In my bedroom, I have a reading corner with a rocking chair. It is there that I have created a sampler wall. It is now carrying over to the second wall. As you see, I have one waiting to be hung. These samplers have really given our bedroom a warm atmosphere. I love adding to them when I complete a new sampler. I have a goal to have yet one more finished by the end of this year. Since this is one of my WIPs, it should not be a problem to complete it in time. I really do love to sit here in the afternoons and read a little.

I am now using samplers in the living room as well. We have hung picture ledges where I can place any samplers and change things easily with various holidays. You can it here on my other blog.

Liefs Irma

I love samplers, and have done one of the Told in a Garden series for each of the grandchildren as they were born. Yours look so pretty hung together on the wall.

Hi Heidi, love the sampler corner with your rocking chair. What a wonderful and peaceful area for sitting reading, or just contemplating life.

Also love the penny quilt, very appropriately named, makes me want to pull out my squares and stitch them together - but alas, other things call and are in line already.

Keep well - Roberta

Holy cow, that is a lot of stitching. I love the girls, they came out so well and the frame is very nice too. That is a very cozy corner.
Love you, Mom

I remember this corner so well :>) It's looking lovelier than ever.
The frames you have chosen are really beautiful, stylish and classic. The new wall is looking great.

Heidi, Your sampler corner is the neatest! Many years ago, in the 50's when we lived in West Texas a friend and myself cross stitched several samplers from the Jane Snead catalog. This were stamped cross stitch (before counted cross stitch became so popular). I am still partial to the old fashioned way of embrodiery although the counted is beautiful. Gave away most that I stitched and only ended up with one when we moved to East Texas. It was pleasing to me when Rhonda had stamped embrodiered pillow cases on the guest bedroom on one of our visits. Enough about embrodiery -- husband says it is time to go. My Love, Rowena aka RoRo.

I love the eclectic look when like things are grouped together in an gathering as you created with your samplers, Heidi. It certainly makes that corner of your bedroom look so comfortable and an ideal place to curl up with a good book.

Thanks for sharing this little peek into your lovely home.

Your house looks lovely in the pics, but having been there IRL, I know it's ever so much cozier and prettier. You have such a touch with decorating!!!
