Mary, Mary, quite contrary.....

...how does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
and 78 flowers all in a row.

To say I am thrilled today would be a gross understatement! I have just completed my Japanese flower scarf which has been my most involved project to date. It is almost a year ago now that I put on YouTube videos and started to really undertake trying to crochet. Chatting online with Hazel got me addicted to these flowers. I started this along with a larger flower for a blanket back in March. Neither was progressing well enough so I decided to put all my attention to this scarf for the time being. I just love how it has turned out and 78 flowers later...it was all worth it. I never imagined I would be able to crochet even the simplest of things let alone this!

Now I cannot wait to be able to use it regularly. I have a scarf feddish and wear them a great deal. I had been using it already to keep warm with while I was still crocheting it. My medication levels are not right again I think as Jos says he can set the clock to me saying I am cold each evening and having to wrap up in something. What is most fun about having one project done is that I can grab the next.....

For more floral inspiration, you can visit TheFlowerBed blog. It is an honor to be joining in with this talented group of inspiring ladies. Beware though as it is addictive!

Heidi your scarf is just lovely!

If you don't mind me asking, could you put a link up to the videos you found how to crochet instructions from?

I just love the scarf! I'm aware how addictive crocheting is, it's a big distraction from stitching, but a great one. I have some black and white cottons and I suddenly have an idea for it... :-)

The yarn is grey. It looks like mohair but is acrylic too so I can wear it. :-)

I love this. I esp. love thata you did it in one color. I'm inspired. I think I saw a pattern for it on Attic 24, but she did hers in her colorful style. I like yours better. Linda

Way to go my friend!!!! That scarf is truly lovely and looks beautiful being worn. I love the color and the design. I think it is safe to say you have mastered crochet...grins...as if we had any doubts....you just have the knack for needlework, as my Grandma used to say. Thanks for sharing and hugs from CA.

Heidi this is beautiful! I can't believe that you just taught yourself to crochet by You Tube! My daughter is wanting to learn and I'll have to tell her how you did it since I'm not good at it myself. I just can't hold that hook so it doesn't cramp up my hand.

Your scarf is wonderful...what is next?
