Needlework 12 Days of Christmas - 6th day...

On the 6th day of Christmas...

...stitching what you love! I was just emailing with Jenny (no blog) about a shared love for things with an alphabet and/or a house on it. Can I add one more thing to that list Jenny? A cat! Last year, I won Olga from Deborah this year and saved it for 2011 since I also got the The Goode Huswife's Book of Designs Vol. 2 for my stash also. And what charts are in this book? Cat and cat samplers. Just adorable...

After all, most days I am stitching with Dagi on my lap so he needs to be honored with his own wall of cat samplers, right? He has been very patient and accepting moving house last month. He is happy now in his new home and wants to spend his days cuddling away here. Yes, that is my cat laying on my couch under my quilt with his head on my pillow. He is a little man with fur. Great personality and a great companion.

I am looking forward to starting this major project of a cat sampler wall. Humm...I think I might have to start looking for more frames. It should be a purr-fect year full of cats.

Are you planning any major stitching projects to start in 2011?

Your Dagi looks so much like a lion! He's beautiful and looks like he appreciates a good warm spot.

we're not able to have a cat or dog due to allergies, but I love the picture of yours... he looks like a little lion in it!
love the designs you're showing, have fun making them.

What an awesome idea to do a wall of cat samplers.

Your Dagi is gorgeous! I have four cats, and they all like being tucked up too.

I am hoping to finish some major projects in 2011, rather than starting any more. :-)

Happy new year.

I like cats and they like me, but they make me and Nina sneeze so we've never owned one. I do like these cat samplers. And I am sure Dagi will be so happy to have his own art.

I've planning on sewing up a stack of scrap quilts in 2011.

Oh what a handsome cat Dagi is! You can see the gentleness in that beautiful face. (Okay I know you shouldn't call a boy beautiful but soemtimes handsome isn't enough. LOL)

And the samplers you have lines up will look fabulous together. Each one with a little cat hair stitched in. :)

I wish you and yours a very happy New Year!

What a purr-fect gentleman Dagi is.... so regal on his couch with quilt and pillow!!!!! My cat and dog both love to snuggle with quilts and pillows, especially when it is cold outside. What a great idea for a sampler wall for him. He will love it!!! As for this years stitching I have some samplers, complete with alphabet and houses on them,....grins....I want to work on and finish as well as a quilt or two...... but my main stitching goal is the Anniversaries of the Heart #6 ( I think that is the birthday one) and dedicate it to my Grandmother. In August of 1999 my Grandmother asked me what I would like for my birthday. When I was a little girl she taught me to knit, but over the years I had forgotten, so my gift that year was her showing me again how to knit. She passed away in June of 2000 and I always treasure the memory of her teaching me to knit for my birthday. I only knit simple patterns, scarves and baby blankets so far, but I feel very close to her when I do....so there is my stitching goal for 2011. Happy New Year Heidi and may 2011 be a great year for you! Hugs from Ca.

Dagi is darling! I see that he likes to snuggle like my Sammi. 2011 is my year to stitch from my stash as much as possible. Hope that I can stick to the plan. Happy new Year, friend.

Dagi has such a sweet face. I find it hard to resist anything with a house on it and if it is a sampler with a house I might as well just give in because I have to have it!

Cats! Hooray for cats!! How amazing that Dagi can sit on your lap while you stitch. Cassie ventured over to the couch while I was stitching tonight (started that new piece) and took a longing look at my dangling floss before I told her "no". I can't wait to see the cats you stitch. Will you do one to look like Dagi?

He is a charmer, that Dagi! Do do a cat wall is a fab idea!
For this year, I'll be doing my best not to start any new stitching projects, but to continue towards the finish line with the ones I've already begun...

all the best wishes for the New Year,
heidi

Oh Heidi ,Dagi is just so photogenic . I love cats ,but DH is not too keen, they make him wheeze . Dogs don,t so we have our Ollie.
Like the idea of cat wall very much , my birdie one is growing (has to be black birds though).
Lots of Happy Dancing planned for 2011 then!! I really must get some of the designs I have stitched but no real plans. Take care sweetie and a very Happy New Year to you and yours.

Forget looking for special frames, you better start looking for extra hours in the day, and extra hands. You just keep finding more to do. I am still trying to get into the mood to finish a project I started before I came to Holland. I am also thinking of what I want to knit next. Bill bought me a gift certificate to Joann Fabrics. Hummmm. I know they have a beautiful fisherman knit yarn I have been thinking about buying.
Okay, waiting for the next entry now.
Love you, Mom

New Year Blessings for you Heidi!
Love your Dagi! How do you manage to stitch with a cat in your lap? My Moses thinks I am having a play date when I pull out the floss. Love the idea of a "cat" wall. Especially love that Good Huswife chart (must get my greedy little hands on that one). I see some cat stitching in my future!!

I just adore Cat designs and have a few GH ones lined up to stitch this year. I love your idea of a cat wall. It will be perfect.
