With silver bells and cockle shells,
and 78 flowers all in a row.
To say I am thrilled today would be a gross understatement! I have just completed my Japanese flower scarf which has been my most involved project to date. It is almost a year ago now that I put on YouTube videos and started to really undertake trying to crochet. Chatting online with Hazel got me addicted to these flowers. I started this along with a larger flower for a blanket back in March. Neither was progressing well enough so I decided to put all my attention to this scarf for the time being. I just love how it has turned out and 78 flowers later...it was all worth it. I never imagined I would be able to crochet even the simplest of things let alone this!
Now I cannot wait to be able to use it regularly. I have a scarf feddish and wear them a great deal. I had been using it already to keep warm with while I was still crocheting it. My medication levels are not right again I think as Jos says he can set the clock to me saying I am cold each evening and having to wrap up in something. What is most fun about having one project done is that I can grab the next.....

Heidi your scarf is just lovely!
If you don't mind me asking, could you put a link up to the videos you found how to crochet instructions from?
Wonderful Scarf, I love it.
Can't wait to see the next project.

That is quite beautiful. I am very proud of you. More important, you Gramcrackers would be very proud of you. That is a very nice result of hard work. I am only surprised by one thing, It is Blueeeeee. haha
Love you, Mom
I just love the scarf! I'm aware how addictive crocheting is, it's a big distraction from stitching, but a great one. I have some black and white cottons and I suddenly have an idea for it... :-)
The yarn is grey. It looks like mohair but is acrylic too so I can wear it. :-)
Whoops, I was just informed on Skype that it is grey. Okay, more you.
Oh Heidi, your flower scarf is just so lovely and it looks beautiful on you! You are so incredibly talented to have mastered this delicate art of crocheting and created such a truly special scarf!
I love this. I esp. love thata you did it in one color. I'm inspired. I think I saw a pattern for it on Attic 24, but she did hers in her colorful style. I like yours better. Linda
Heidi, it's gorgeous, and it is absolutely YOU to a 'T'!
It is beautiful. Great job! xx
Way to go my friend!!!! That scarf is truly lovely and looks beautiful being worn. I love the color and the design. I think it is safe to say you have mastered crochet...grins...as if we had any doubts....you just have the knack for needlework, as my Grandma used to say. Thanks for sharing and hugs from CA.
Beautiful! It loks so soft and elegant, like a silvery cobweb!
Its beautiful, well done you.
I think I 'd like one myself!
Hugs Chris x
Heidi that is gorgeous, I'm still at the granny square stage so I'm in awe of your wonderful scarf
Thanks for the link! I just had found it by googling it, so it was funny to visit the same blog again. But I'm defenitely gonna try it.
Very pretty Heidi! And to think this is a new craft for you! A long way from your first dishcloth!

Great idea, to make flowers into a scarf! Love it.
And,if you need to practice more, you can make one for me!?
Oh, that is so, so pretty--beautiful work, Heidi :)
Heidi this is beautiful! I can't believe that you just taught yourself to crochet by You Tube! My daughter is wanting to learn and I'll have to tell her how you did it since I'm not good at it myself. I just can't hold that hook so it doesn't cramp up my hand.
Your scarf turned out beautifully!!! Tadaah!
Have a great weekend & hugs, Carolien
P.S. That heart looks great too, I almost forgot :)
This is just beautiful! Wouldn't a sweater made like this be beautiful on a warm evening over a simple dress?
Oh my, Heidi...your scarf is so lovely! Wear it with extreme pride.
Congratulations on a lovely finish. The soft blue color is great.

Prachtig patroon en garen. Ik ben nu aan de brei, maar krijg zo weer zin in haken.
Fijne week, groetjes
Your scarf is wonderful...what is next?
the scarf looks so pretty and delicate. I love it. I like the heart from your previous post too. I hope you feel better soon and can warm up.
