Happy in two's!

That is me on this Sunday evening! Happy in two's as the animals are ready to enter Noah's Ark. My first UFO is finished for 2010. This one was a fun way to start a new year of quilting. As I mentioned, I created a charm quilt out of these stitchery blocks. It contains 138 different fabrics. Thanks so much to Lynette for a very fun stitchery set!

And since I count a quilt as really finished only when I have sewn on the label, I did that the moment I finished the binding. Now I have my first of six UFOs completed for my yearly goal. Reason for a happy dance indeed.

Enjoy a child's rhyme about Noah and the animals and have a great Sunday!

Now in come the animals two by two
Hippopotamus and kangaroo.
Now in come the animals three by three
Two big cats and a bumble bee
In come the animals four by four
Two through the window and two through the door.
In come the animals five by five
Four little sparrows with their red breasts white

Well, here come the animals six by six
The elephant laughin' at the monkey's tricks
In come the animals seven by seven
Four from home and the rest from heaven.
In come the animals eight by eight
Some was on time but the others was late
Now in come the animals nine by nine
Some was a'shoutin' and some was a'cryin'.

In come the animals ten by ten
Five black roosters, five black hens
Now Noah says, "Go shut that door
The rain's started droppin' and we can't take more."

Now that is one cute quilt and the little rhyme to go with it is too.
It looks great and a quick finish after you found it in your move of many boxes. LOL.
Love you, Mom

Can I see this one coming Thursday, pleeeaaase? It looks great with all those little pieces of fabric. As colourful as creation itself! Congratulations on your first finish of 2010. Is there a snail in your Arc? No, can't be, that snail is me and I am here, I didn't even reach the Arc because of my fabulous speed LOL
Have a good night & hugs, Carolien

P.S. Yes, the ride on bike ket me warm except for my feet, as usual. Really needed that second pair of socks, I know it's silly ;)

Your Noah's ark quilt is beautiful Heidi and I love the outside border makes me think of stepping stones leading to the ark.

1 down 5 to go I wonder what will be next.

Hugs,

How lovely it was to read allllll of the posts I missed, Heidi! My goodness, you've been a busy lady, haven't you? Your Noah quilt is beautiful, and I must say I really, really like your Mary Poppins!

I hope you and Jos and Dagi are well. We have a little friend for Pantoef now. She's a Cornish, Heidi!

This is a very charming quilt! Love the way you finished it, with the colored border.

We had a sermon in our church about the story of Noach's ark Sunday afternoon, isn't that a nice coincidence?

Only 5 more UFO's to go...

Woohoo! I really like it. I actually have a Noah's ark stitchery that I started years ago that isn't finished. It's not on my goal list for the year though but good for you to check one item off your list this early in the year!
