Sunny days of summer...

The weather has turned to summer. No lazy days for me though. I have made a bunch of fobs to giveaway with each finish as I have every intention of having lots of finishes this summer. *grins*

After my last finish from a week ago which I shared in my last post, I decided I needed to pick out one of the really old UFOs in my harvest basket. This is what came up. It is the Flower Sampler by Kirsten Schmidt (Kissy). She had a SAL online many years ago and I started it with two online friends. Now I am not even sure when the date was. The last posting I did about it was back in 2006 on my old blog. Yikes! Even then it was a UFO. Not for long though if I can help it. I picked out colors that are used in Makkum porcelain here in Holland. For some reason, I saw the Makkum plates or a vase when I first saw this design.

Since the weather has turned warm, it is great to sit in the garden and stitch. That is just what I will be doing up at Cranberry Cottage. We want to get up there to get away from a rock concert being held in the park just a block from our house. All I want to hear is bird song. *wink* I am taking my new seat frame which just arrived about an hour ago. I will post about it later. I want to have time to play with it and see how I like it.

It is like being outside at the moment with this pretty bouquet of peonies that my quilting friend Anita gave me on Wednesday evening at our quilt night. She did it to celebrate the fact that our house sold quickly. Thanks Anita! And yes, I do have to post the latest quilt blocks but I must confess I want to finish my own first.

Carolien and Sonja joined the quilt group and came for the first time. It was nice to have them there and they fit in so well that it was like they were always part of the group. Carolien totally spoiled me with the gift of the DVD Cranford. Thanks Carolien! Oh how I love this series. I want to live in Cranford and have Miss Maddy as my neighbor! So now I will be wishing for a rainy day to sit inside with this on while stitching.....

Have a happy and creative weekend!
Don't forget to stitch in the sunshine!

Oh you bad, bad, bad, bad girl! I have Cranford on DVD. I want to watch it. I have a deadline. What to do???

You must tell us about that new frame of yours pronto!

Your Makkum sampler (as I will call it henceforth) is a beauty! Gorgeous colours. Is there still a lot of work left to do?

We really should meet again soon. It's been too long.

Have a wonderful weekend over at Cranberry Cottage!

Liefs!

Love your latest UFO Heidi the colours are pretty. The next village to ours is called Cranford and I have Cranford Park at the back of me, but alas not the one you are referring to. I am wondering if your new frame is like me if so I love it and it does help the arthristis in my left hand.
Enjoy C.C. and the peace and quiet.

I love the sampler - wonderful colours. I've missed a few of your Happy Dances, and I'd just like to say that they are all wonderful.

Emjoy cranford - I love stitching to it too. The second Cranford (broadcast on the BBC this Christmas) was no where near as good though!

Hello Heidi,

What a surprise, your Makkum UFO! I have never seen it before. It's so nice! (Me and blue ;) I know the factory of Makkumer Aardewerk well: the second wife of my father was working for them for many years as an agent in Holland, Belgium and Germany. There's a lot of Makkum in my parents house.

I want to thank you again for your invitation to join your quilt group. It was a great pleasure to be there! Lovely. I even slept as a rose that night, which I normally never do after 'evening things', so that must be a good sign! :))) Today I did buy some linen for some Sinterklaas squares, bad girl as I am. Ahum.

Well, have a nice weekend at CC and I'll see you on Wednesday!

Big hugs, Carolien

Your going back to the 'old day's' now... An UFO before 2006!! I knew you had a lot of UFO's, but even before 2000??
Great idea to listen to the birds instead. And stitch in the sun. I did that yesterday, and probably today and tomorrow. But I have to finish some papers for school too. I have to divide my time. sigh...

You have such a great group of friends. The sampler is really pretty too. I should get on some old unfinished projects too but I'm having too much fun with the new ones, lol! I actually have one done in crewel that's been sitting there for about 25 years waiting to be finished. I know the time-frame bz I started it when my first baby was born...now that's just sad isn't it?!

You are so busy with your UFOs, Heidi - you put me to shame again!
I love 'Cranford' and The Great Dane has bought me the three-DVD set. Right now I'm taping Lark Rise to Candleford so that I can watch it all at one go - great for knitting or needlework!

Congratulations on your house, what good news!

Is the Cranford DVD based on a book?

Stay cool in the shade.

The colors in your sampler are stunning. When we stayed in Makkum we enjoyed visiting the tile museum/factory very much. I wished I'd had enough money to take something home with me. ;)

I hope you finish your sampler because I love the colors blue and yellow together - very cheery.

Peonies are my favorite spring flowers. they're fragrance is so lush.

My great niece is an Amelia and I often think of Amelia Bedelia.

Have a wonderful sunshiny day.
