Gifts in life.....

Friends are true gifts in life! Never have I felt that more so than this month. I feel so lucky to have many friends who share my passion for needle and thread.

The postman brought me a wonderful package all the way from Canada. Humm...do elves also live in Canada? I think they must because they also live in Holland. *grins*

This elf made me a beautiful sewing pocket using pink ribbon fabrics.

And on the inside, the pink ribbon continues with these amazing pair of stork scissors in the pink ribbon theme.

I love the ric rac trim added inside and out. Does this elf have a name? Why yes...Kaaren. Thank you so much dear friend!

For some reason this photo did not get on the slideshow after I downloaded it. Dagi joined the party and even had his own chair. He knew which girlfriend to corner as Bep was sharing her wonderful home smoked salmon with him. Albertha's husband smoked it especially for our Christmas party and it tasted amazing.

Saskia and Joke made me the sweetest gift this year. This little miniature armoire is so cute but wait...
...because when you open it, you find a little stash cupboard complete with bolts of fabric, a basket of necessities, quilts and an afghan. And that afghan was knitted on little sate sticks by Joke. Thank you both for this magical gift! I am looking forward to sharing another new year of quilting fun with you both.

If you want a glimpse of the handsome man in Saskia's life *wink* then you can check out my other blog here.

Okay, you really better have that hidden when I come because I think it looks very doll house size to me.
They made that so cute and wonderful things inside.
Bep, is Dagi allowed to have that salmon? Hummmmm, I wonder.
It sounds like you just had the best party with the ladies. Great.
Love you, Mom
PS: We are having Christmas today, since I am leaving in the morning. Wish you were here.

Such a lovely gift from Kaaren. Another talented stitcher! The armoire is beyond wonderful. Joke and Saskia are just the best!! I know you will treasure that forever. So.... Dagi loves Bep, doesn't he?

I am so happy that you like your needlecase and scissors. It was my pleasure to make it for you.

Saskia and Joke's mini armoire is absolutely wonderful...complete with stash and all. Does that mean you now have enough fabric to make real "mini" quilts?

Enjoy the snow. The long range forecast says that we're going to have snow on Christmas Eve continuing into Christmas Day. Perfect!

Heidi,
What lovely gifts. The needlecase is so pretty, I love the way Karen has made the inside and the scissors are just gorgeous. And, of course, it's pink....haha! Oh goodness, I couldn't omit to mention the absolutely beautiful paper the gift was wrapped in. I hope you have smoothed it out and saved it...haha!
Wow, what a fantastic little armoire, so intricate and dainty. I can imagine Saskia knitting the tiny afghan on little satay sticks. Joke is so clever with his hands. What a lovely couple I'm so glad i was able to meet them :>)
I definitely think Bep has discovered the secret of communicating with kitties - ther chat with Dagi looks so intriguing.
Hugs Angela

How special you must be to have friends send you such nice things.
that mini armoire was amazing. I had to look twice in the second photo to believe that it was miniature.

BTW, I'm new to your blog, nice to meet you!
