Leaping along.....

It is Leap Year and we have an extra day today. What better to do with that day that work on some projects?

This UFO challenge for 2012 has become very easy. So far I have completed 4 UFOs and have been adding more to my list. It is addictive to grab the next UFO and get busy with it.

I finished piecing this quilt top and am sandwiching it today. I have not decided yet if I want to machine quilt it. I have been wanting to do one again by machine to practice but I do love hand quilting. I figure by the time I have it sandwiched, I will be able to decide. As you see, Dagi has decided to model the quilt top for you...

My stitching UFO project of the cat samplers is moving along with DagiLuv. It is a fun design and coming along nicely.

What are you doing with your extra day today?

Pretty little quilt. I love your model there.
I am going out for breakfast today and then hopefully getting some quilting time in too. Happy Leap Year Day.

Well, both of your projects are great. Machine quilting will be much faster and then you can get on to the next thing.
I am crocheting the sweater for Abby but I just bought the seventh book of the Sweet Magnolias on my Nook.
They are by Sherryl Woods and oh so good. Hard to stop reading. I have been reading them in one or one and a half days.
Have fun with the quilt.
Love you, Mom

Love your quilt Heidi. How difficult will it be to get all that fabric through your machine when you machine quilt it? I haven't got that far yet - well not started even, but don't think I would have the patience to hand quilt but imagine it might be difficult and bulky to machine.

Such a pretty quilt ~ love the colors ~ and obviously Dagi thinks it's comfy, as all quilts should be!
Your stitches look great! Did you see the new hornbook pattern from market that has a cat on it?

I used my day to catch up on little annoying jobs that needed to be done. i also found a bag of quilting squares and a completed block that my mother had started before she became too ill. i am thinking of doing something with those. xxx

I used my extra day to work! Not near as much fun as spending the day sewing but I'm very thankful that I'm well employed.

Your quilt is so pretty. I love the colors. And your stitching is great too!!

I didn't do anything special today except run my daughter to the orthodontist. I feel like I wasted the extra day this year!!

Isn't it nice that we have these kitties to help us with our projects? Such help they are!

I spent the day at a doctor's appointment, then running errands. I stopped at one of the local thrift stores because I had a $10 off coupon that expired today. I found $10.88 worth of items, and when I went to pull out my dollar bill, the cashier told me I didn't owe anything! What a blessing on a cold, rainy day!

I was running around yesterday, it was a crazy day. I posted the recipe, hope you enjoy it.

I can't believe its March. I still haven't shown my January finishes, nor my February's. Again, thanks for the inspiration on this challenge. I really have completed a lot.

blessings, jilly

A stunning quilt.

I agree with Julie that the quilt is stunning. Today, I used a couple of orphan blocks to cover some cushions for St. Patrick's Day.

Love the colors in the quilt. Dagi is such a good poser.

I am working on my HAri-kuyo needle book. I haven't embroidered in many years so it is slow going. Hope to have pictures up soon.

Doesn't feel so wonderful to pull out those UFO's and finish them at last? What a beautiful quilt....lovely colours! My preference is to hand piece and hand quilt, whenever possible, but I am a bit old fashioned.

Oh yes, you are right. UFO finishing can be as addictive as starting new things. I'm on the starting side at the moment, lol.
This quilt looks fantastic. And I'm already waiting for your next finish.
